The Ambulance Service Action and Support Group

Created by Carol 4 months ago

I met David by chance , we are a group of Ambulance personnel, Paramedics, Emergency Care assistants, and support staff ,who have been bullied , sexually and racially discriminated and victimised. Many have had to  resign, leave a job they loved because of the Toxic bullying culture, some have suffered mental health issues and worse some have taken their lives.

We had been fighting for exposure writing to NHSI, CQC,HSE, MPs eventually going to Parliament, writing to all media,  with little or no Success. Then one evening by chance,I saw on the internet a journalist called David Davis, he had written an article  on my Employment tribunal against South Western Ambulance Service.

I contacted emailed him thinking he wont reply , but he did.

From then he was our Guardian Angel. He put us on a completely different track, often giving me orders, jobs to do or not to do!! He advised us to change our name from SWAST survivors to The Ambulance service Action and support Group, advised us to start a campaign, start a FB page ,helped us with our logo, helped us to get a place at The Emergency Services Show. David set up a website which attracted many Ambulance staff in the same situation across the country, even David was suprised at the huge Toxic culture in the Ambulance Service. In theory he was our CEO, with dear Beryl always at hand for advice!!.

His advice has been invaluable, all from a totally unexpected article that I replied to.

We were lucky enough in August 2021 when he was visiting his son and daughter-in law ,Jonathan and Tasha , that David and his beautiful wife Beryl came to our home and spent a few precious hours with my Husband Greg and I.

From the first reply to my email David and Beryl have been firm friends.

For me personally he was the first Journalist that believed me .

Thank you David !! we will keep the fight going for you
